Dr. Julie Bass is a Registered Psychologist providing individual psychotherapy across the lifespan. She has extensive clinical training and practice in both France and the United States. Dr. Bass’s personal life story informs her understanding of the profound impact of cultural transitions and identity on mental health. She maintains a culturally humble and trauma-informed approach to therapy.

Rooted in a psychodynamic framework, Dr. Bass explores the complexities of each client’s life story, examining how past relationships shape present experiences. Tailoring her approach to each client’s history and goals, she fosters growth with a warm and engaging style. Dr. Bass helps children express emotions and work through challenges through play. She collaborates with caregivers and schools to provide comprehensive support.

Dr. Bell is a registered psychologist who has been dedicated to empowering children and parents for over 20 years. Dr. Bell’s work includes providing therapy to individuals, families, and parents as well as assessments. She has a background working with children and adults who have histories of trauma. These clients have come to Dr. Bell with a wide background of experiences, for example: physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, and foster care.

Dr. Bell has specialized training in the area of Infant Mental Health. Dr. Bell has been trained in wide range of approaches in this area, including Circle of Security, She is able to provide clinical service to families as well as supervision and training to professionals. This work focuses on the early relationships between parent and caregiver, as well as in depth understanding of early development. She takes great joy in working with the relationships between infants (ages 0-5 years) and their caregivers and seeing the transformation of little ones’ behaviour as their caregiver gains confidence and understanding.

In addition, Dr. Bell works with clients living with anxiety, depression, behavioural challenges, and family roadblocks to healthy relationships. Dr. Bell brings an attachment lens to all she does. This means that, in both therapy and assessment, Dr. Bell pays attention to the relationships in a person’s life and how those relationships may be impacting how they are feeling. Dr. Bell has extensive training in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, attachment-based therapies, Gordon Neufeld’s approach and play therapy. Dr. Bell tailors her approach to each individual according to client needs, situation and current research.

Dr. Bell is pleased to offer full psychoeducational assessments for children, youth and adults, providing comprehensive reports that take into account the essence of the person beyond what is found in the school setting. Claudia Georgescu is a Registered Clinical Counsellor in the province of British Columbia and she holds Masters degrees in both Clinical Counselling and Clinical Psychology. Claudia specializes in providing evidence-based therapy for the management of various mental health concerns. She is able to provide both cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT). In her clinical practice, she enjoys working with children, adolescents and young adults with anxiety-related disorders (including generalized anxiety, separation anxiety, panic disorder, social anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorders), depression and eating disorders. She can also provide skills training in a variety of areas including anger management, problem solving, parenting and emotional dysregulation.

Persephone is a Doctoral student in the Clinical Psychology (PhD) program at the University of British Columbia and holds an MA in Clinical Psychology.

She has worked with youth and adults presenting with Anxiety Disorders, Depression, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Hoarding Disorder, Learning Disorders, and Selective Mutism. Her clinical training includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and other evidence-based modalities. Persephone is continuing to develop specialization in these areas under the supervision of Dr. Bell, with the goal of fostering a secure and collaborative therapeutic environment where clients can navigate challenges, support personal growth, and achieve lasting positive change.

In addition to her therapy work, Persephone has conducted a range of psychoeducational and autism assessments, and gained experience supporting youth with selective mutism through her work with Camp Brave. She has also co-facilitated a SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) group for parents.

Her clinical approach is informed by her research background. She previously worked as a research assistant at the Frederick W. Thompson Anxiety Disorders Centre in Toronto, within the Intensive Residential Treatment Program for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, where she interviewed clients and families to better understand the challenges faced by those living with OCD. Lorraine Ng is a Registered Clinical Counsellor in BC. She has experience providing individual and family counselling to adolescents, immigrant families, cultural minorities, parents, and caregivers.

She works with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, stress management, relationship difficulties and parenting issues, and other life changes. Her practice is grounded in Adlerian Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-based work, attachment-focused approach, trauma-informed practice, and multicultural framework.

Lorraine is warm, compassionate, and insightful in her work. She strives to provide a safe environment for clients to deepen their understanding of themselves and rediscover their inner strengths. Welcome to Sand Story! I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a Masters in Counselling Psychology from UBC. I work with clients who may be struggling with past or recent trauma, attachment injuries, relationship challenges, or anxiety and depression. I also provide parenting/care-giver support and education and work with co-parents who do not live together.

Within a relational, developmental and trauma informed framework I strive to provide a safe and welcoming space to explore the past, manage the present and envision the future. While I draw from training in evidence-based counselling models and my own lived experience, our work together will always be collaborative and honour you as the expert in your own unique life journey. Together we will work to help you live your natural state of growth and thriving.

Colleen Wittig obtained her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia and has been practicing as a counsellor since 2001. She is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (registration #2306). She has worked in various settings with children, youth, adults, and families including Vancouver Coastal Health Eating Disorders Program, Child and Youth Mental Health, Fraser Health Authority and Family Services of Greater Vancouver. She has worked in both public health care and private practice settings with a wide range of clients.

Colleen’s treatment philosophy focuses on empowering clients to lead a meaningful and fulfilling life by supporting them to work through issues and draw on their individual strengths.
